Stockfest Rare Breeds Tour

The MG Car Club, will promote the “Stockfest Rare Breeds Tour”, a Touring Assembly on 18th August 2019. The event will be held under a Certificate of Exemption number [to be] issued by Motorsports UK, and is governed by the General Regulations of Motorsports UK, these Supplementary Regulations and any written instructions that the Organisers may issue for the event.
The event is open to crews of two or more people (up to the seating capacity of the car) in any car that is old and/or interesting in the opinion of the Organisers. All cars must hold a V5 Registration Document and if required by law be taxed and have a valid MOT certificate. Cars should not display any advertising or carry any competition numbers on the doors, unless specifically agreed with the organisers beforehand. Cars registered outside of the UK may be accepted at the discretion of the Organisers.
All cars must be insured for the event. There is no competitive element to the event so participation would normally be covered by a standard motor policy, however it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure they have the right level of cover to take part.
Entries open on the publication of these Regulations and close on Friday 9th August 2019 at 17:00. If the maximum number of entries has been reached before the closing date, a reserve list will be started. All entries must be made on the official entry form and be accompanied by the entry fee of £25 per car. Cheques should be made payable to “Stockfest”. Each entry will be acknowledged by email or, if no email address is provided, by phone.

The entry fee includes, one Road Book, one Rally Plate, a breakfast snack and drink for each crew member, entrance to the Stockfest Classic Car Show. Lunch will not be provided but food will be on sale at the end of the Tour at the show.
The maximum number of entries on the event is 60. The minimum number is 20. Should the minimum number not be reached, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event and refund the entry in full. The first 30 entries will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The remaining entries will be allocated at the discretion of the Organisers. The running order will be decided by the Organisers. If you would like to run particularly close to a friend/colleague then this should be noted on the entry form.
Entry fees may be refunded, less an administration fee of £5, if withdrawn in writing prior to the 9th August 2019. Thereafter refunds will be at the discretion of the Organisers.
The event will start and finish at The Glebe, Stockcross, Newbury, Berkshire, RG20 8LP. On the same day there will be the Stockfest Classic Car Show at The Glebe and other attractions within the village. The route will cover approximately 70 miles.
The prescribed route will be detailed by an easy to follow road book. This will include Tulip diagrams for about half of the route and other easy to follow navigation for the remainder. The intention of this other navigation is to provide some variety for the navigator – it is NOT intended to provide a significant challenge. “Panic Envelopes” containing rejoin instructions for these sections will be issued at the start. The roadbook will enable crews to cover the route without having to use maps, but should crews wish to use a map, the route is on the Ordnance Survey Landranger (1:50,000) map numbers [174, 184 and 185].
To check that crews have traversed the prescribed route there will be a number of Route Checks at strategic locations along the route. These Route Checks will take the form of either a question about a roadside feature (eg signpost) which is easily visible from inside the car, or a small sign erected by the Organisers displaying a code. Although it is not mandatory to visit these Route Checks, crews may record the required information on their Route Check Card and compare it with the Organiser’s version at the finish.
About halfway through the route there will be a coffee halt where refreshments will be available for purchase. It is not mandatory for crews to visit this coffee halt, but those that do will be greeted by a member of the organising team who will sign their Route Check Card and ensure that crews leave at appropriate intervals to avoid a long procession of cars.

08:00 Signing On and breakfast opens – Crews should arrive at least 45 minutes before their due start time.
09:00 First car leaves Start – others will follow at one minute intervals 12:00 Finish control opens
14:00 Finish control closes
Final instructions, which will include an entry list showing individual start times and directions to the start, will be issued by email during the week before the event. Crews without an email address may opt for these to be sent by post.
At Signing On, before the start, a current MOT certificate for the car (if applicable) and a valid Driving License for the driver must be available for inspection if required. After Signing On, crews will receive their Rally Plate (to be fixed to the front of the car), Road Book and Route Check Card.
